Getting a driver’s license is an exciting time for teens, but their parents are often concerned about teens knowing how to be safe and make smart decisions behind the wheel. Driver’s education programs offered locally and through the teens’ schools are a great place to start but parents often want their young drivers to have hands-on experience as well. The Bridgestone Teens Drive Smart Program offers parents the peace of mind they are looking for while offering teens more experience behind the wheel.
About the Bridgestone Teens Drive Smart Program
The Bridgestone Teens Drive Smart Program is a free training session that offers a chance to gain the knowledge needed to make better decisions while behind the wheel. This half-day program features a hands-on driving experience in a safe, supervised environment that helps teens to learn important driving maneuvers as well as explaining the dangers and risks of distracted driving. Additionally the Teens Drive Smart Program offers teens tips on how to keep their vehicle at peak driving performance.
Teen drivers are required to have a valid learner’s permit or driver’s license in order to participate in the program. Throughout the half-day session, drivers will be learning both in a classroom style setting as well as hands-on behind the wheel. The goal of the Teens Drive Smart Program is to help teen drivers become smart drivers and educate them on how to improve their overall driving skills. Additionally, teens will learn how to avoid dangers on the road and learn important, life-saving maneuvers.
How is the Bridgestone Teens Drive Smart Program Different from Traditional Driver’s Education?
Traditional driver’s education courses focus on teaching the basic rules of driving on the road including the meaning of traffic signs and speed limits. The Teens Drive Smart Program takes this training a step further by educating young drivers on different vehicle control techniques, how to drive in different weather conditions, and how to avoid dangers and skidding situations. Additionally, the program goes in depth into the dangers of distracted driving and how it can lead to accidents on the road.

The Bridgestone Teens Drive Smart Program is available in a number of cities across the United States from the beginning of June through the middle of October. Below are the upcoming dates and locations for this amazing educational program for 2015 are:
